Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where your guide will greet you. Begin the scenic 6-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through lush landscapes and rural villages. Check into your eco-lodge within the park and unwind, preparing for the days ahead.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Embark on an early morning game drive to spot elephants, lions, buffalo, Uganda kob, and other wildlife. Birdwatchers can delight in spotting over 600 bird species. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, viewing hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a variety of waterbirds while learning about the park’s delicate ecosystem.

Day 3: Ishasha Sector & Tree-Climbing Lions

Travel south to the Ishasha sector, famed for its rare tree-climbing lions. Spend the day game driving, observing lions, elephants, and other animals amid stunning savannah and crater lakes. Return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

Day 4: Community Visit & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, visit a community conservation project near Queen Elizabeth, learning about sustainable farming and crafts that support local livelihoods. Then drive 3-4 hours to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Check into your eco-lodge near the forest edge, surrounded by ancient trees.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Rise early for a briefing followed by your gorilla trek. Trek through dense forest to observe a family of mountain gorillas, spending up to an hour with these majestic creatures. Return to the lodge for rest and reflection.

Day 6: Cultural Experience & Nature Walk

Spend the morning visiting the Batwa community, gaining insights into their traditional way of life and their role in forest conservation. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk exploring Bwindi’s rich biodiversity, spotting unique plants and birds.

Day 7: Optional Gorilla Habituation or Additional Trekking / Relaxation Day

This day offers flexibility: opt for a second gorilla habituation experience (extra permit required), another forest walk, or simply relax at your lodge soaking in the serene environment.

Day 8: Transfer Back to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive back to Queen Elizabeth National Park (approx. 3-4 hours). En route, optionally visit Maramagambo Forest for a guided Bat Cave walk, exploring caves inhabited by bats and other wildlife. Check into your eco-lodge for the night.

Day 9: Game Drive & Optional Community or Nature Activities

Enjoy a morning game drive to revisit favorite wildlife spots or discover new areas. In the afternoon, choose optional activities such as a boat cruise, a community tourism visit, or nature walks focusing on birdwatching and conservation education.

Day 10: Return to Entebbe for Departure

After breakfast, travel approximately 6 hours back to Entebbe. Stop for refreshments and photos along the way. Arrive in time for your flight or overnight stay.
