Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Welcome & Local Market Visit

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Relax and explore the vibrant local markets or the Cultural Heritage Centre to get an introduction to Tanzania’s artistic traditions. Enjoy a welcome dinner featuring traditional Tanzanian dishes.

Day 2: Arusha to Mto wa Mbu – Village Life & Artisan Workshops

Drive about 1.5 hours to Mto wa Mbu, a culturally diverse village known for its vibrant markets and farming communities. Visit local artisans creating traditional crafts such as weaving and pottery. Participate in cooking local dishes with villagers and take a nature walk around Lake Manyara’s wetlands.

Day 3: Mto wa Mbu to Lake Eyasi – Hadzabe & Datoga Hunter-Gatherers

Travel approximately 3-4 hours to Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers and Datoga pastoralists. Spend the day learning traditional hunting techniques with the Hadzabe and exploring the Datoga’s unique beadwork and blacksmithing crafts. Day 4: Lake Eyasi to Karatu – Maasai Cultural Encounter

Drive about 2 hours to Karatu, gateway to the Ngorongoro Highlands. Visit a Maasai village to participate in age-old ceremonies, traditional dances, and beadwork workshops.
