Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe & Transfer to Mabamba Wetland

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your guide and transfer to Mabamba Wetland. Take a serene boat ride through the papyrus swamps to spot the rare and elusive shoebill stork along with other wetland birds. Your guide will share insights about wetland conservation and local ecosystems. Spend the night at a nearby eco-lodge.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park via Fort Portal

After breakfast, embark on a scenic 6-hour drive to Kibale Forest, with a stop in Fort Portal. Visit a community conservation project that supports sustainable farming and eco-tourism. Continue to your eco-lodge nestled in the forest. Relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Begin early with a chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest guided by experts committed to conservation. Spend time observing chimpanzees in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area. Explore the wetlands, spot a variety of birds, and learn about the community’s role in protecting biodiversity. Overnight at the eco-lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Katwe Crater Lakes

Travel approximately 3 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route, stop at Katwe Crater Lakes to witness traditional salt mining, a sustainable livelihood for local communities. Check into an eco-lodge inside or near the park, surrounded by natural beauty.

Day 5: Game Drive & Boat Safari on Kazinga Channel

Enjoy an early morning game drive focusing on wildlife such as elephants, lions, buffalo, and various antelopes. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, observing hippos, crocodiles, and a rich diversity of bird species. Your guide will provide information on the park’s ecosystem and conservation efforts. Return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & Cultural Visit

Drive about 3 to 4 hours to Lake Mburo National Park, known for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. After checking into your eco-lodge, visit a nearby community involved in sustainable farming and crafts. Participate in a cultural exchange or a guided walking safari focusing on ecology and conservation.

Day 7: Game Drive or Walking Safari in Lake Mburo & Return to Entebbe

Spend the morning on a game drive or walking safari, spotting zebras, impalas, buffalo, and a variety of birds. After lunch, begin the approximately 4-hour drive back to Entebbe. Arrive in time for your flight or overnight stay.
